Why do we admire the greats.
What is this invisible aura that seems to surround this elite group of people.
What is it that makes an entire room stand at attention when high performers like Stephen Curry and Lebron James or billionaires like Elon or Bezos walk in?
They look like you.
They talk like you.
Their hobbies are similar to yours.
They breath the same air and express the exact same emotions as the next person.
Yet, history and stats will prove that they’re clearly different then everyone else in specific domains.
So the better question to ask is:
“Is there skillset and work ethic mimicable? let alone achievable”?
In This letter you’ll learn:
- The real definition of mastery.
- Why life is meaningless without it.
- The 5 gears that perpetuate it.
- How it can be used RIGHT NOW in your personal life and business.
Blackout:
“Mastery is a spiritual outcome, the grand stage of peak performance that only a few ever reach due to the intense, rigorous and repetitious effort of doing what one loves to the point of hate.”
-Cassion Her’Ve
I was going to attempt to find a cooler way to say what Mastery is, but quite honestly there is no prettier way to put it. The path to mastery is a dark one. It’s birthed from a place of ignorance, uncertainty and weakness.
All of the traits that society attempts to mask in order to save face from the inevitable loss that comes with pursuing anything worth having.
It sounds counterintuitive, but the strongest person in the room was the weakest (not in every single case but most), the smartest person was the most dumb at one point and the greatest of leaders were once avid followers.
Everything has a birth and birth typically is formed from darkness. A place of nothingness then the process of creation happens all at once.
Floyd Mayweather as an amateur boxer lost as a rookie in the Olympics early on in his career.
Most don’t even know that. but that loss, that place of mental darkness went on to fuel the greatest boxing record ever to be recorded.
He went 50-0 before retiring, never suffering a single loss in his professional boxing career.
What the hell happened? A flip switched in his head and clearly broke is what happened.
He went dark.
The Pursuit:
“Mastery is the ability to execute effortlessly without the use of conscious resources”
– Myron Golden
Before anything is pursued, mentally we’ve pre-checked the box of the thing we don’t want. In all things there is an exchange.
For every yes there is a no
For every closed door there is an open one and so on and so forth you get my drift.
Behind every pursuit, be it a business endeavor, money, recognition or influence you want these things because your mind see’s the perceived worth in attaining it.
And let’s be clear your not wrong.
“Perception IS Reality To All”. A letter I wrote a while ago explaining this idea in more detail.
But you’re perceived level of happiness is gauged by your pursuits. We’re the most excited and jovial about life when chasing something we believe is of high worth.
Be it an image, status, wealth etc etc..
The 40hr. a week worker wants financial freedom, so what does he/she chase? (Entrepreneurship)
The now entrepreneur wants to solidify a real business so what do they chase? (An Idea)
The solidified business owner now wants to do what? (Make more money)
The financially secure owner wants what? (To be the best in class A.K.A Mastery)
The pursuit of personal mastery over the mind is less about the achievements in life themselves, but more about self actualization. The fulfillment of your own prophecy. You becoming the programmer of your reality vs. you being programmed by it.
High achievers and peak performers develop a super power that separates them which is embracing elevated emotions.
The anticipation of a outcome and the joy, the strong sense of fulfillment and overwhelming sense of control over their fate is a key component in this pursuit.
This is the result of repeated championships for an athlete, multiple multi-million/billion dollar deals for high level CEO’s and 1/1 masterpieces by artist. It’s the ceiling that won’t ceil.
Regardless of what phase a master is in.
The limits aren’t just being pushed their being completely discarded.
We are as creators, at our absolute best and worst when we are in the pursuit of a worthy ideal, a goal or outcome that forces us to evolve and brings some sort of value to the world at large.
And you have paid enough attention to society to see what a person can become when they deny this self-imposed responsibilty.
5 Gears For Mastery:
“Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.” — Lao Tzu
There are 5 key drivers in high performers that make level 99. of life look like a cake walk.
I’ll run through these briefly.
But you’ll notice a few drivers off hand that when your in creator mode pose as very powerful catalyst for your creative process.
The thing about those who have mastered their crafts, this isn’t just a place they visit, but they’ve decided to make their permanent mental home.
But here they are:
1. Pain.
- It comes in many forms, packaged in different doses and it’s completely subjective from person to person. I’ll never know your true depths like you’ll never know mine. But whether it’s rejection, trauma, abandonment, fear (insert your pain here). You name it.
This one driver alone can alter your entire reality. Pain is a powerful force that if transmuted can be used to create tremendous good in the world. But if left unrefined in a raw organic state, grows to become a cancer destroying your potential for mastery.
2. Purpose.
- I was privy to the idea that purpose was just something that fell into our laps after galivanting through life enough. (LIIIIIEEESSSS). Boy was I wrong. Once I started paying more attention to what the 1% was saying about their own unique journeys, I began noticing a recurring theme.
They tried and pushed so many ideas to failure that, through the collective experience from everything they attempted. What they wanted more then anything was simply to be of use to someone else. If your a halfway descent human being, then ask yourself deep down. (Why do I want more money)? The proper response should be (To help myself Aaannnnd others). BOOM There you go.
3. Passion.
Nothing makes a master more believable then the energy that radiates when they speak. I made a video about this on Youtube: “Master High Level Communication (5 Powerful Ways To Connect & Never Go Unheard Again)” There’s communicative protocols they’ve mastered which draws a crowd anywhere at anytime.
Your personality and charisma will do just fine most times, but what reveals a real master is there ability remain authentic to themselves while displaying real world beliefs. NOBODY AND I MEAN NOBODY will believe you if you don’t or can’t believe you.
4. Skillset.
This is where a lot of people will drop out of this letter because I’m going to mention having to learn and put in real work. So for those who were waiting for the magic pill, sorry to upset you.
Go ahead and exit stage left.
Still here? Ok good..for those who understand in order to be the best in class and uncover what’s behind the veil of mastery, it’s doing what you love to the point of hate.
That simple.
Something happens after the hate though..
Are you ready?
You start to love it again!
When acquiring a new skill, in order to amplify the impact of doing the thing you love there will be the inevitable ups and downs.
The speaker must learn how to write, The painter must learn pallet color coding. The mindset coach must learn psychology. If you’re going to make an impact and do what you love the cost is learning an irrevocable skill to amplify your impact.
And that takes real work.
5. Flow.
Now the idea of flow is still somewhat nuanced, it’s gaining a lot of steam in the neuroscience and behavioral psychology world.
But I don’t want to bore you about that. Just think of Flow as place of pure creative bliss. A place where you’re mind begins to generate massive amounts of reward chemicals signifying to you that you current actions are 100% in agreement with the life purpose that you’ve chosen for yourself.
When you think of Flow, think of figures like Jesus, Ghandi, Leonardo Davinci, Einstein where the words they spoke, concepts they taught and things they created looked just seemed to look so effortless to them.
This is because the mental frequency they operated on was one this earthly plain can’t even fathom. Flow derives from a place of elevated emotion in the brain.
When these emotions are maintained long enough, you begin to transmute what’s taking place in your inner world to your outer. There’s a bit of metaphysics involved here.
I’ll do a separate letter and video explaining in greater detail about how to access unlock this later.
But for now just understand that your creative genius is stored away waiting to be tapped into so it can alter your reality forever.
The Perfect Time Is Now:
“The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” — Unknown
Often times we tell ourselves that we have more time then we think we do to act on our ideal reality. But we don’t and because we fail to embrace the urgency to act, the life we want never manifest.
My wife once new an older woman some time ago that she use to work with prior to starting our agency.
They worked with one another very closely. Always kept in contact, sometimes even hungout after work.
Until one day she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. (I didn’t want to go here but I kind of have too to drive home the point).
She wanted to start a business in her late age and express her creativity, beliefs and passions to the world at scale, but unfortunately never got around to creating it. She passed less then a year later after getting the news.
I bring this story up for good reason because it’s relevant to the point I’m about to make next. Spiritually speaking were infinite creatures, but in these physical bodies were are bound to this earthly plain by time.
-Time is finite.
-The body is finite.
-Our ability to act is finite.
-The mark and legacy we can leave on this earth with people by committing to the journey of self-mastery and our highest potential is Infinite.
I cannot tell you what your highest form looks like, who you will be, where you will go, what you will achieve or what you will become.
I can however, tell you that if you’re willing to embark on this journey of becoming more, you will by default be able to do more and eventually have more for yourself so you can be of greater use and impact to those you love and humanity as a whole.
It’s not potential you lack. It’s the creative process of knowing what ideal to pursue that’s unique to you and where to begin.
My advice? Re-read this entire letter if you need to, create a mental perception of your 10 year self and think of everything they would be doing on a given day.
And start doing it. NOW.
I’m dropping a digital product on Nov1st. “Cognitive Currency” .
If you consider yourself a creative, entrepreneur or beginner and want to learn how to generate highly profitable ideas that helps you pick apart your own mind, make money while you sleep and start living a life of genuine purpose and passion.
This will help.
You get to choose your reality, your not a victim.
So make the choice, take the leap, burn the bridge and pursue the road to self-mastery while time is still a luxury.
The time to act and become the master of your own reality is now.
Catch you in the next letter.
-Cass.
